Oh my heart. This view from East Wenatchee I grew up looking at and thankful for every season of color and layers. Anywhere you look from in East Wenatchee is usually blue sky and mountains. So thankful for this valley! My kids get tired of hearing it, but we live in a GORGEOUS corner of the world! I've been longing to start a small series of paintings of Wenatchee from my childhood perspective and this is the first. I don't believe I have EVER drawn this view before! I’m not sure why, but growing up I was never very inspired to paint landscapes, until this year! It was fun to dream with God all the good things He has blowing into Wenatchee Valley while creating this piece.

This painting is from the Northwest series done in mixed media, which were created as a type of ‘living prayer’ for the places around the valley I grew up in, as well as other Northwest destinations that have had special meaning and are close to my heart. Mountains have always fascinated me with the strength and beauty they represent and inspire me to create. I hope this series creates a connection for you with the peace and beauty of this part of the Northwest I call home.
