About
Hello! I’m so glad you came to visit. My full name is Allison Teal Lewis and my husband’s middle name is Patrick. Since he is my better half as well as the left brain of operating a website business with me, it seemed quite natural to name this online home - tealpatrickart. We love living in a little town called Cashmere, Washington, with our 4 school aged children. The Pacific Northwest, with four amazing seasons of beauty and plenty of outdoor fun available, constantly fills us with gratitude. Response to this beauty is fueled by my passion for Jesus Christ, and for me that comes out in worship through creativity.
My husband and I both grew up in the Wenatchee Valley in Washington, not far from Cashmere, yet we did not meet until college. I grew up in a home that loved Jesus and music and being active. My biggest joys growing up were anything that had to do with music or piano as well as art. I was never very interested in playing house or dolls and thankfully my parents and brother truly encouraged me in creativity.
I attended Whitworth College for a couple of years where I truly grabbed onto my passion for art and had many life changing experiences through the people I met that awakened my heart even more to know and experience God in a powerful way, and truly pursue Him. With all the wonderful experiences at Whitworth, I felt God calling me to University of Washington to finish my art degree. During my first year at the University of Washington, Seattle had a record year of precipitation, complete with gray skies for over 100 days straight! Despite the rain, the best part of that year was meeting and falling in love with my amazing partner in the Kingdom, Daniel! We were married two years later, in 2000. Since that time, I returned to school to receive a B.A. in teaching art, had our three boys and adopted our daughter from China. Adoption had been a dream since we were dating!
Through all that time, I really put art on the back burner and stayed home to school and raise my kids. Only in the last couple years have I realized God was calling me into creating more with Him within the church as well as starting an art business, where it can travel to many more.
After years of studying the process of art into college, I had not tapped into the reality that we are simply ALL creative because we are made in God’s image. I have been on a journey of learning to hear His voice, and recognize when He is giving me creative pictures and ideas. An art mentor that I have grown from is Matt Tommey, who has an excellent article on the process and power of hearing God’s voice and creating with Him. If you are interested in this process look here. Also, If you are an artist looking to grow personally or in business or ministry with your creativity, I can’t reccommend this program enough! As a proud affiliate of CTT, Check out Matt’s mentor program here; https://thrive.matttommeymentoring.com/a/34387/ZRR2PAFW
My hope is that you are blessed, healed, spoken to and experience God’s heart for you through what I create. Thank you so much for visiting today.
