ABSTRACT COLCHUCK NIGHT
ABSTRACT COLCHUCK NIGHT
This return to the famous range and lake at the border of The Alpine Lakes Wilderness and Aasgard Pass is a draw for so many world travelers as well as locals, and this year I cant get out of my mind the deadly avalanche accident in 2023 that happened here- This painting I pray one of redemption- of a creation spot that can be so dangerous yet constantly drawing us to the beauty. This painting a restoration type prayer of place, if you will. Praying healing for the families affected as well as a humble awe of nature and the hope of returning to and through rough places of tragedy, even when still pushing through the other side of fear. This might sound bleak, but quite the contrary is my prayer.... in the darkest of night there shine countless invitations to hope again. There is a light of the moon, a visible glow that reveals new details and beauty only found at that hour. Hope speaks, as loud as the 'marvels of the heavens'.
Winter chill and galaxy nights all shout ;
"Space itself speaks his story through the marvels of the heavens. His truth is on tour in the starry vault of the sky, showing his skill in creation’s craftsmanship."
-Psalm 19
Whatever you're facing I really hope you remember to look up. There is always at least one prick of light, but probably no a lot more than that if you look. And it affects more than you know.
