Wenatchee Hope
Wenatchee Hope
This view from East Wenatchee I grew up looking at and thankful for every season of color and layers. This ‘moody’ piece of Wenatchee with skies that remind me of spring and summer thunderstorms simultaneously sharing beautiful darker colors and with the power we cannot control and season of ‘storms’ we would have rather avoided!. This piece was created soon after the pandemic was dwindling but still remaining effects everywhere one goes. The bright yellow in the foreground bushes found on East Wenatchee’s riverfront trail, and the pinks telling of spring new life are the loud representations of hope here no matter what comes to us in the darker times. Melancholy is forced to move out when hope is on it’s heels! Spring brings this message to the forefront every year.
This painting is from the Northwest series done in mixed media, which were created as a type of ‘living prayer’ for the places around the valley I grew up in, as well as other Northwest destinations that have had special meaning and are close to my heart. Mountains have always fascinated me with the strength and beauty they represent and inspire me to create. I hope this series creates a connection for you with the peace and beauty of this part of the Northwest I call home.
