Lake Chelan
Lake Chelan
Pretty excited over here to finally paint Lake Chelan- thanks to my amazing fellow artist and writer Kristi Ahrens mad photo skills and her hubby's awesome vantage point from flying small planes above really beautiful places! Thanks Ahrens, for sharing! I also am particularly in love with this perspective as it has been very challenging to find one capturing this particular lake or one that has a focal point. Also I am just thinking about perspective a lot this year. One fun surprise I did not notice until sharing my new piece with a friend was the seeming heart wide open, spilling out, at the top of the lake. This also seems to be part of the season I find myself in. Heart spilled out, (wanted and unwanted), and filled with Him. I love how this process works with my Creator. Sometimes I see and know the direction ‘we’ are headed with a piece, and other times, it just happens and I see later what He is doing. I hope somehow this painting blesses you as you look at the aerial perspective, that you think about the landscape of your life and see His love poured out all around, and through you.
This painting is from the Northwest series done in mixed media, which were created as a type of ‘living prayer’ for the places around the valley I grew up in, as well as other Northwest destinations that have had special meaning and are close to my heart. Mountains have always fascinated me with the strength and beauty they represent and inspire me to create. I hope this series creates a connection for you with the peace and beauty of this part of the Northwest I call home.
